"A Poison Tree" by William Blake

I was angry with my friend:

I told my wrath, my wrath did end.

I was angry with my foe:

I told it not, my wrath did grow.

And I watered it in fears,

Night and morning with my tears;

And I sunned it with smiles,

And with soft deceitful wiles.

And it grew both day and night,

Till it bore an apple bright;

And my foe beheld it shine,

And he knew that it was mine.

And into my garden stole

When the night had veiled the pole:

In the morning glad I see

My foe outstretched beneath the tree.

00:00:13.840 --> 00:00:20.140
I was angry with my foe: I told it not, my wrath did grow.

00:00:20.680 --> 00:00:26.860
And I watered it in fears, Night and morning with my tears;

00:00:27.680 --> 00:00:33.920
And I sunned it with smiles, And with soft deceitful wiles.

6
00:00:34.420 --> 00:00:40.640
And it grew both day and night, Till it bore an apple bright;

00:00:41.260 --> 00:00:47.100
And my foe beheld it shine, And he knew that it was mine.

00:00:48.020 --> 00:00:53.940
And into my garden stole When the night had veiled the pole:

00:00:54.460 --> 00:01:01.400
In the morning glad I see My foe outstretched beneath the tree.
